Three ways we help

Practical systems for complex work.

Support can begin with one urgent problem or extend across a larger program, strategy, operating model or implementation system.

01

Funding, Performance & Reporting

Connect funding requirements, program delivery, outcomes, evidence and financial accountability in one maintainable system.

  • Funding and reporting requirement crosswalks
  • Logic models, indicators and data collection plans
  • Budget, variance and performance trackers
  • Reporting calendars, dashboards and year-end templates

Start here when: reporting is approaching, evidence is scattered or the team is unclear about what needs to be tracked.

02

Strategy to Implementation

Turn strategies, evaluations and recommendations into owned, sequenced and measurable work.

  • Source-document crosswalks and recommendation registers
  • Prioritization frameworks and implementation workstreams
  • Milestones, risks, dependencies and decision controls
  • 90-day plans, roadmaps and implementation dashboards

Start here when: the direction already exists, but ownership, sequencing, dependencies or next steps remain unclear.

03

Organizational Design & Governance

Clarify how roles, teams, partners, workflows and decisions fit together so the organization can operate more effectively.

  • Operating models and organizational restructuring
  • Roles, responsibilities and decision rights
  • Governance structures and committee design
  • Workflows, coordination, escalation and accountability

Start here when: growth, restructuring or shared delivery has created unclear roles, duplicated work or slow decision-making.

Approach

From the mess to something usable.

1

Understand the context

Begin with the source material, people, constraints and decisions that need to be made.

2

Make sense of it

Organize the information, identify overlap and make relationships between evidence, responsibility and action visible.

3

Build practical solutions

Create a framework, system, roadmap, tracker, report or decision tool suited to the organization’s capacity.

4

Support implementation

Define owners, milestones, decisions and review points so the finished product can actually be used.

About Between Points

Complex systems, made practical.

Between Points is an independent strategy, evaluation and implementation practice led by Ben Beaudoin, an Inuvialuit policy and systems professional.

Ben’s experience spans program design, funding and accountability, monitoring and evaluation, governance, service integration and implementation. His work is strongest where policy, evidence, operations and decision-making intersect—and where scattered information needs to become a structure people can actually use.

Between Points brings a systems perspective, a plain-language approach and a focus on useful finished products designed to remain workable after the engagement ends.

Common questions

What an engagement can look like.

What kinds of organizations does Between Points support?

Nonprofits, governments, community organizations and cross-organizational partnerships working through complex strategy, evaluation, reporting, governance, organizational design or implementation challenges.

What can a focused starter engagement include?

One clearly defined product, such as an indicator framework, reporting calendar, recommendation register, roadmap, governance tool, role matrix or decision framework.

Are the published examples client projects?

No. The published examples are original fictional demonstrations created to show the structure and quality of Between Points deliverables.

Can the work be tailored to restructuring or organizational change?

Yes. Organizational Design & Governance can be adapted to clarify roles, redesign structures and workflows, establish decision rights, or support a transition to a new operating model.

Start with the mess

Tell Ben what isn’t working.

The problem does not need to be fully diagnosed first. Share what feels unclear, what deadline is approaching and what a useful finished product would allow the organization to do.
